Dear Friends,
The world today is full of uncertainty. We are unsure what tomorrow will bring both nationally and globally. One thing, however, is certain – to make our world a better place in the future, we must teach young people from all walks of life how to be leaders. That’s why we created Debate. By bringing the best and brightest students together to learn leadership skills and debate key issues, we are ensuring a brighter tomorrow for our world.
I want to thank our sponsors, parents and teachers for championing this year’s Debate program. Without your support, the development of these fine students would not be possible. They are the key to a prosperous future, and your encouragement is vital as they grow into the leaders of tomorrow.
For five days in July, high school students from across America will make my home state of Oklahoma their home. They will study, compete and live together. They will learn from one another, and they will push one another. Most importantly, they will grow together. In the end, they will share their views on some of the most important issues we face today.
While celebrity judges will name one team the winner, there’s no denying that all of the participants will be winners.
