About Four Star Debate
Four Star Debate is a five-day leadership development camp for some of the finest high school students from across the nation. The program works to develop young leaders of character who are well informed about important issues facing our nation.
Students are trained in strategic thinking, planning, communication, teamwork and persuasion. Throughout the program, students are taught to practice their new skills through debate. They also receive practical training in the art of persuasion, gain in-depth knowledge of various public issues, gather valuable team experiences and develop relationships with other up-and-coming leaders.
Established under the leadership and vision of General Tommy Franks in partnership with the National Center for Policy Analysis and Oklahoma Christian University, the inaugural event was held in August of 2008. Throughout the week, student participants debated topics such as: flat tax, privatizing Social Security, and universal health care. In addition, debaters were provided with first-hand leadership knowledge from General Tommy Franks, NCPA's professional policy analysts, debate coaches, and university debate students. The event concluded with a final debate moderated by FOX News' Judge Andrew Napolitano.
Four Star Debate sponsors include General Tommy Franks, the National Center for Policy Analysis and the Academy of Leadership and Liberty at Oklahoma Christian University.
